Dua when visiting a Patient

  1. Abdullah bin Abbas Radhi’Allahu Anhuma narrated that Allah’s Messenger SallAllahu Alaihi Wasallam said:

Translation:  If anyone visits a sick whose time (of death) has not come, and says with him seven times:

Asalu-llahal azeem, Rabbul Arshil azeeme An yashfeek.

I ask Allah, the Mighty, the Lord of the mighty Throne, to cure you, Allah will cure him from that disease. (Abu Dawood, Tirmizi)

  1. Abdullah bin Abbas RadhiAllahu Anhuma narrated that The Prophet SallAllahu Alaihi Wasallam paid a visit to a sick bedouin. The Prophet (SallAllahu Alaihi Wasallam) when visiting a patient used to say:

La ba’as, tahoorun in sha Allah.

‘Never mind, may it (the sickness) be a purification, if Allah wills.’ (Al-Bukhari)
